Inseparable

Good grief. This should have been a thing ages ago, but I just haven't been satisfied with my attempts until now. I have an almost parental affection for these guys, so I wanted them to look their best. There are some things I think are still a bit "meh", but overall I think this is my best work of these two, and even Shaidz in general. Been drawing him a bunch recently, so I think I'm really pinning down what I want him to look like. I'm honestly really glad I've improved since my first attempt at drawing these guys at their current age. I mean, look at these derps: sta.sh/01pvto62glx0

So, character building!
Shaidz is the older sibling, but Umbra eventually grew to be taller. This caused a bit of jealousy from the older sibling for a while, but he got over it after a while. Umbra continues to look up to his brother very much. Figuratively, of course. Shaidz definitely doesn't feel like he deserves this admiration, and does his best to point out the best things in his not-so-little brother whenever he can. Though definitely not perfect, the relationship these guys have is strong.

Artistically, I think I've just been getting better and more consistent with the little details. I actually took the time to stare at my own shoes to try to improve my understanding of them. Fingers and toes are a pain, but I think I'm getting those down as well. Tried (not very hard) to make the background a little artsy. Meh... whatever. Also been trying to make sure my poses are balanced, so it'd be nice to know if they look like they're about to tip over.

EDIT: Also, this definitively makes blue guts and Shaidz having more than one shirt canon.
